Ron Ham
The Rev Ronald "Ron" Ham (1929–2015) was a prominent Australian Baptist minister, best known as the first Australian-born pastor of the historic Collins Street Baptist Church in Melbourne. After his retirement from Collins Street, he served as an associate pastor of this congregation, mentoring our current pastor in the early years of his ministry. Born in Balwyn, Victoria, Ron's ministry spanned several decades and locations, leaving a significant impact on the Australian Baptist community. He served at various churches, including Ashburton Baptist Church (1966–1973) and Collins Street Baptist Church, where he was appointed in 1981. He was a member of the Carey Baptist Grammar School Council and held various leadership positions within the denomination. After his passing in 2015, a tribute collection of his sermons and papers titled By Gracious Powers was published to honour his life and theological contributions.
