Joel Sierra

The Rev Dr Joel Sierra is a Mexican pastor, musician, and academic based in Monterrey, Mexico. He currently serves as the pastor of the Jireh Baptist Community (Comunidad bautista Jirét) in Monterrey and is a professor in the Department of Humanistic Studies at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. His ministry is notably integrated with music and hymnology. He has been a member of the Baptist World Alliance Study Commission on Worship and Spirituality, and serves on the team of Puentes, a resource from The Hymn Society that promotes congregational singing. His work often involves using music from around the world, as well as his own compositions, as tools for teaching and preaching. Joel previously served for a period in Nicaragua and is the third generation of Baptist leaders in his family.
