Joris Geldhof

Prof Dr Joris Geldhof is a prominent liturgical theologian and the Catherine F. Huisking Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana USA. He recently transitioned to this role after a distinguished career at KU Leuven in Belgium, where he served as Professor of Liturgical Studies and Sacramental Theology and Vice-Dean for Research (2022–2025). Joris chairs the Liturgical Institute and is the editor-in-chief of the bilingual academic journal Questions Liturgiques / Studies in Liturgy. He is a past president of Societas Liturgica (2017–2019), an international ecumenical society for liturgical research. His academic work focuses on the intersection of liturgy, systematic theology, and contemporary culture.
