At Open Icon Baptist Church, we value great preaching — preaching that engages deeply, humbly and honestly with Jesus, the Bible, and the pain and joy of living in the real world. And since going permanently online, we have been able to welcome great preachers from all over the world without having to wait for them to visit our shores. Click here to meet the inspirational preachers depicted in the gallery above, none of whom have preached for us!

Richard Fabian

The Rev Richard "Rick" Fabian is an Episcopal priest best known as the co-founder of St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco and as a world-renowned collector of Chinese art. Along with the Rev. Donald Schell, he established St. Gregory of Nyssa in 1978, a congregation famous for its innovative worship, which includes congregational dancing and a large-scale icon of "dancing saints". He remains an influential figure in liturgical innovation and is currently associated with All Saints Company, a non-profit dedicated to sharing the creative worship practices developed at St. Gregory's. Rick amassed a premier collection of modern Chinese paintings and classical furniture. His interest began while studying Chinese language and history at Yale in the 1960s.
