Paul Matheson
The Rev. Paul Matheson is currently the Pastor at First Mennonite Church in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he was installed in January 2020. Prior to this role, he served as the pastor of First Baptist Church in Saskatoon for many years. Paul is also a practitioner and teacher of iconography. He began exploring this ancient religious art form after a trip to Greece and the Middle East, eventually mastering the techniques and sharing them through workshops. He has been involved in ecumenical initiatives in Canada, including serving on the writing team for the "Growing Together" educational series for various denominations.Community Advocacy: During his time at First Baptist, he was a vocal advocate for justice and community healing, specifically addressing the church's response to the death of Colten Boushie.
