Preacher: Keith Clements
At Open Icon Baptist Church, we value great preaching — preaching that engages deeply, humbly and honestly with Jesus, the Bible, and the pain and joy of living in the real world. And since going permanently online, we have been able to welcome great preachers from all over the world without having to wait for them to visit our shores. Click here to meet the inspirational preachers depicted in the gallery above, none of whom have preached for us!

Keith Clements
Rev Dr Keith Clements is a distinguished British Baptist theologian, author, and a prominent figure in the international ecumenical movement. Born in China to missionary parents, his career has spanned over 45 years across pastoral, academic, and international diplomatic spheres. His work often bridges the gap between personal spiritual devotion and the public role of the church in addressing global crises. Keith is best known for his leadership as the General Secretary of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) from 1997 to 2005 and for his extensive scholarship on the life and theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Before leading the CEC in Geneva, he worked for the Council of Churches for Britain and Ireland. He is often described as an "ecumenist's ecumenist" for his deep commitment to church unity and interfaith dialogue. Keith is a minister of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, and spent a decade pastoring local congregations before becoming a tutor at Bristol Baptist College and teaching theology at Bristol University.
