Jenn Garavito

The Revd Jennifer Garavito Alarcon is an associate pastor of the Brunswick Baptist Church in the inner north of Melbourne. After initially moving to Australia to improve her English, Jenn undertook theological studies at Whitley College and was ordained by the Baptist Union of Victoria in 2025. She is passionate about seeing God's justice and reconciliation in the world, whether it be among the poor and marginalised or in caring for our crying creation. Having grown up in Colombia, one of Jenn's roles at Brunswick is facilitating its Latin Renew Wellbeing program (Renovar), made up of people from across Latin America. Renew Wellbeing is a concept that helps churches open places of welcome and inclusion within local communities, in support of emotional and mental health.  These spaces foster connection among people and offer a quiet space for shared prayer and reflection.  Renovar has shaped it’s spaces for the needs of Latin & Spanish speaking communities in Melbourne; to find a place to belong, mutual support and share our Spiritual and mental well-being in an inclusive and diverse space.
