Belinda Groves

The Revd Belinda Groves is the Team Leader and pastor at Canberra Baptist Church in Kingston, ACT. She is a prominent voice in the Australian Baptist community, particularly known for her advocacy for LGBTQ+ inclusion, refugee rights, and social justice, and serves as the founding Chair of the Open Baptists. Belinda has a BA (Hons), Dip. Ed., a BTh (Hons) and an Advanced Diploma in Christian Ministry. Her background includes eight years as Associate Minister of Canberra Baptist, six years at Seaforth Baptist Church, three years at Northside Baptist Church, and some pastoral experience at Yokohama Union Church in Japan. As well as having lived in Japan, she has lived in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Belinda has one husband, Aron Downey, two dogs, Mischief and Monty, and three children; Miriam, Grace and Zachary.
